Wildplay are going to be at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday 9th August and Tuesday 23rd August - see here for more details.
Our most recent event was Crooked Well Meadow's Big Lunch on June 5th, 2011. This event was funded by Herefordshire Council's Community Pride Grant and consisted of a picnic at lunchtime followed by an afternoon of animal handling and sports day activities. More than 100 neighbours gathered on the meadow and it was a great opportunity for all ages to spend time together and a big success.
Over 50 people attended our WildPlay Event on July 22nd, 2010. Everyone had a great time making boats, looking for minibeasts and lots lots more. Thanks to Kington Town Council for funding this.
Despite the weather, we had a great time at our Play Event on May 29th, 2010. Some of the things we did included making dream catchers, toasting marshmallows, playing on a rope swing and mini soccer. Thanks Taylor Wimpey for paying for this for us!
Our Grand Opening on May 16th, 2010 exceeded all our expectations. The weather was great and this helped to make the event a real success. We were delighted by the fact that more than 300 people (both young and old) supported us. So many in fact that we had to delay the Opening Ceremony! More than £500 was raised and this will go towards the cost of organising future events on the meadow.
A KLEEN-up of Crooked Well Meadow was held on 10th April, 2010. KLEEN is a group of Kington residents who want to improve the environment that they live in and they have kindly offered to help us clean up the site.
A tidy up of Crooked Well Meadow was held on 21st March, 2010. Volunteers gave up their Sunday morning to help stockpile some of the rubbish.
A successful Wildplay event was run by Herefordshire Nature Trust Play Rangers on 24th July, 2009. It was attended by over 30 children.
